Zhulian Corp Bhd, a main board-listed multi-level marketing group, is expanding overseas with plans for a new
regional office-cum warehouse to be set up in Indonesia, says group managing director Danny M.K.Teoh.
Teoh says the group has invested an initial RM5.6mil 25,000 sq m in Jababeka Industrial Estate, Indonesia, for the regional
premises.
"The plan is to complete the expansion project in three years. We have yet to work out the investment for the
building and the warehouse. "The rational of the expansion project is to cater to the growing market in Indonesia,"
he tells StarBizWeek. The group will also establish another distribution centre in Kuching later this year, in addition to its
distribution centre in Kota Kinabalu, Teoh adds.
In line with the group's overseas expansion plans, Zhulian is introducing two new products, a health supplement
drink and sanitary pad, to be launched in May and June. "The health supplement drink to be marketed under the ISO.7
brand name and Wanisa Sanitary Products will be launched simultaneously in Malaysia and Singapore.
"Subsequently the products will be introduced to the Indonesian and Thai markets later this year," he says.
For its first quarter ended February, Zhulian posted a pre-tax profit of RM22.3mil on revenue of RM71mil. A year
earlier, it made RM18.5mil in pre-tax profit and revenue of RM61mil.
